We've scared up tons of fun for family Halloween celebrations

Why wait until Halloween to get festive? Start the fun this weekend with two Friday evening events and the Saturday Spooktacular at Jenkins Estate.

Explore fall wonders at Newt Day

Dedicated to our amphibious friend, Newt Day is an exploration of the many fall wonders at Tualatin Hills Nature Park.  Walk our trails and learn from nature experts at the Nature Park Interpretive Center, who will help you discover the park's natural treasures.  

This family-friendly event is Saturday, Nov. 3, from noon-4 p.m. Cost: $2 (2 and under are free).

Winter registration starts Dec. 8

Mark your calendar so you're ready to go on registration day!

Winter registration begins:

  • Saturday, Dec. 8: for district residents.
  • Sunday, Dec. 14: for out-of-district patrons.

Our Winter/Spring 2013 activities guide will be online in early November and available at our centers and Administration office by Nov. 16.

New Seasons adopts Barrows Park

At Progress Ridge in south Beaverton, a partnership between the Park District and New Seasons Market is yielding sweet results.

New Seasons is the only for-profit corporation officially enrolled in the Park District’s Adopt-a-Park program. The market's employees are volunteering at nearby Barrows Park.

Nature Days at Summercrest Park

Our fabulous Nature Days series heads to Summercrest Park on Sunday, Nov. 11.  From 11 a.m. -3 p.m., visit a great neighborhood park, enjoy activities and learn more about the park's resident beavers and other local wildlife species from a park ranger and our education staff.

Pam's Party returns to benefit food bank

Pam’s Party for Women Who Love the Water returns to Beaverton Swim Center on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 4-6 p.m. 

This sixth annual event, benefiting Oregon Food Bank, is a must for women who adore fun company, aqua aerobics and homemade desserts. For more information, or to RSVP, call 503/629-6312.
