December 2011

Tualatin Hills Today

Happy New Year!

We hope your 2012 is filled with friends, family, prosperity, good health and, of course, fitness!

If you need some extra motivation to kickstart your 2012 goals, come join the Cedar Hills Fitness Challenge, Jan. 1-April 30 at Cedar Hills Recreation Center.

The winner of this friendly competition will receive a round-trip getaway to the continental U.S. destination of his or her choice. Now THAT'S a motivator.

Winter registration under way

Winter classes start next week, so there is no time like the present to browse the activities guide or search for a specific class in our online database. Never registered online? Learn more here.

Special offer: we are offering an incentive - 20 percent off OR a 30-day frequent user pass - for people registering for selected winter classes. If you are interested in one of the classes listed here, call Kylie at 503/645-6433 to register.

We got 'wild' and wrote a nature guide

Several of our Natural Resources experts have contributed to a new Portland nature guide entitled "Wild in the City: Exploring the Intertwine."

"Wild in the City," in stores now, explores some of the region's best nature areas. The book features essays from prominent local writers and is a must-own for anyone who wants to see everything natural this area has to offer.

A successful season of giving

The winner of  internal bragging rights for the best collection barrel was Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center (pictured), but you made all of our our barrels look twice as nice by filling them with toys and food.

So many of you participated in our drive.  We thank you on behalf of the many individuals and families in the Beaverton area who received your donations via Sunshine Pantry.
