If you’re thinking it’s too late to get into one of THPRD's fall classes, we have good news.  Fun and interesting opportunities for all ages are still available across the Park District.

Fall Native Plant Sale at Tualatin Hills Nature Park on Oct. 1

Want to attract more birds, butterflies, pollinators and other wildlife to your garden?  Visit the Fall Native Plant Sale this Saturday, Oct. 1.

This great event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nature Park Interpretive Center, 15655 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton.

Admission is free.

Flu shots, health screenings and more at Elsie Stuhr Center this Saturday

Don't miss receiving your flu shot at this great event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.  Attendees also may benefit from free screenings for blood pressure, hearing, vision, glaucoma and diabetes.

Painters Showcase from Oct. 7-9 at Jenkins Estate

On Oct. 7-9, a group of local artists will present more than 350 works of art at the Jenkins Estate, including paintings, etching, drawings, and collages.

Cost is $5 for a three-day pass.

Fall Festival set for Oct. 15 at Cedar Hills

Cedar Mill Cider Festival on Oct. 16

Do you want to see how the pioneers made cider with antique, hand-cranked presses?  Do you want to sample the results?   Do you want to listen to a great bluegrass and old-time music band?

Then don't miss the Cedar Mill Cider Festival on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the John Quincy Adams Young House.

Storied history: Garden Home Rec Center building opened in 1912

Did you know the building that houses our Garden Home Recreation Center started as a school?  And did you know the original occupant (Garden Home School) opened there 99 years ago, in 1912?  The school actually started in a different building in 1911, so historians are celebrating the school’s centennial now; you can check out the website here.  Wondering how the school became a THPRD recreation center?  Click here.
