Bring out best in your yard with the Green Gardening Fair and Spring Native Plant Sale

What you'll find at the Gardening Fair

During the Green Gardening Fair you will learn sustainable gardening techniques through activities and information booths where you will be able to glean information about composting, watering, native plants, and much more.

At the Native Plant Sale, you’ll be able to choose from a wide variety of native trees, shrubs, and perennials. Friends of the Tualatin Hills Nature Park sponsor this event with proceeds going toward future park improvements and environmental education programs.

Admission to the event is free.

It's not too late: Registration ongoing for THPRD summer camps and classes

Stuhr celebrates Older Americans Month in May with series of events

Facebook Like Button   THPRD's recreation facility for adults 55 and better will honor its patrons with a monthlong series of events in May focused on seniors, their many contributions to our community, health and wellness issues, and much more.

Events include a seminar on cardiovascular disease (May 6), and National Senior Health and Fitness Day (May 25).

Jenkins Estate hosts quilt festival

Facebook Like Button   Celebrate Mother’s Day by attending the Barefoot Quilt Festival at the historic Jenkins Estate on Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8.

Cedar Mill Farmers Market starts May 7

Facebook Like Button   Need a special last-minute gift for Mom? Visit the Cedar Mill Farmers Market, which returns for its 13th season on Saturday, May 7, the day before Mother’s Day.

The “friendliest little market around,” sponsored by THPRD, will continue every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of October in the Sunset Mall parking lot.

Concert and theater schedule unveiled

Facebook Like Button   THPRD's Summer Concerts and Theater in the Park schedule is now available. It all kicks off on July 7 with Quarterflash (right) at Garden Home Park.

Check out the schedule, which features some old favorites and exciting new bands. Three theater performances are also planned.

Park reclassification project under way

Facebook Like Button   THPRD staff have been working for more than a year to reclassify district properties. The overall goal is to reclassify, and in some cases rename and/or combine, THPRD sites and facilities that don’t fit the current classification system guidelines.

The proposed reclassifications are designed to reflect the primary intended public use of a site, while proposed name changes are to clarify and simplify site names consistent with the property naming/renaming guidelines recently approved by the district’s board of directors. >> Read more
